Teesside International Airport

Set between Darlington and Stockton-on-Tees, Teesside International Airport (MME) is your gateway to northeast England and North Yorkshire. Hire a car via the airport for a faster, cosier and hassle-free way of getting around.

Car hire options at Teesside International Airport are extremely limited. The airport has a deal with only one provider, Enterprise (+44 164 260 8330), and it doesn’t actually have a pick-up area on-site.

Instead, Enterprise offers a free ride to its nearest branch. You will also have to call the above number in advance to arrange a time for them to pick you up. Once you’re at the branch, you can collect your hire car and get on your way.

Darlington is approximately 15 minutes from Teesside Airport. While the town centre is pedestrianised, there are plenty of places to park, both in designated car parks and on many streets. The A1(M) runs along the town’s western edge, too.

Further afield, Barnard Castle is roughly a 40-minute drive from Teesside Airport via the A67. Raby Castle is about 35 minutes away via the A67 and the B6279, while Hardwick Park is approximately 20 minutes north of the airport by road. The historic city of Durham lies 40 minutes to the north along the A1(M) or the A167.

If you have time for a scenic drive, cruise along the A169 between Whitby and Pickering through the North York Moors.

There are a good number of petrol stations nearby for when you need to return your hire car to Teesside International Airport, including one at Morrisons at Morton Park.
