Turkey

Konakli, Alanya

Like your all-inclusive holiday to have as many activities as the buffet? In Konakli you can be cruising on a catamaran one minute and relaxing in a hammam spa the next.

On the coast, miles of blonde sand provide the perfect setting for sandcastle building, while in town there are ancient mosques to explore, markets to shop at and friendly tavernas to scoff mezze in.

As the cheapest destination in Europe for an all-inclusive September escape, great value is part of the parcel.

Kemer, Antalya

Sand, style and scenery would be Kemer’s motto if it had one. This Turquoise Coast resort has a lot to please the eye, from the swish all-inclusive hotels that line the pebbled beachfront to the peaks of the Taurus Mountains that tower above.

Marmaris, Dalaman

Thanks to their sublime sea views and countless waterslides, Marmaris’s all-inclusive resorts have been pleasing holiday crowds for decades.

Follow them there and you’ll be rewarded with one of Turkey’s best nightlife scenes. Open-air bars, beach clubs and live music venues bring the party from sundown until dawn.

Any sore heads are best soothed away on the beach. With over 10km (6.2 miles) of coastline backed by a lively promenade, you’ll have a pick of sand, shops and cafés wherever you pitch up.

Lixouri, Kefalonia

If you’re seeking a slice of traditional Greece – read quaint town squares, colourful fishing boats and seafood plucked straight from the sea – at an all-inclusive price that won’t make your eyes water, Lixouri has your name written all over it.

Between sunbathing and banana boating, save some time to hit the hiking trails that crisscross the surrounding countryside.

Bali, Crete

You won’t find busy marinas and strobe-lit clubs here, but that’s all part of the appeal. Built around three picturesque coves, holidays to Calas de Mallorca are all about lazy swims in the sparkling Mediterranean and sunset strolls along coastal paths.

If you’re up for an activity, book a glass-bottom boat tour to admire the resort’s scenery from a different angle.

Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria

Boa Vista, Cape Verde
